Terry revels in Chelsea title win

Chelsea celebrate their third Premier League title in six seasons

The Blues were crowned champions for the first time since 2006 with Sunday’s stunning 8-0 demolition of Wigan.

Terry stated: “It’s been inside of me for three years, seeing Man Utd lift it season after season and every single one of us has sat there and watched it.

“We’ve done it and we deserved it. Now it’s their turn to sit and watch us.”

Chelsea secured the fourth title in their 105-year history with a scintillating victory that broke the Premier League record for goals in a season.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men scored 103 goals, beating the previous tally of 97 set by Manchester United in 1999-2000.

Their focus will now turn to Saturday’s FA Cup final against Portsmouth at Wembley, with the Blues bidding to complete a maiden league and FA Cup Double.

“It could be an amazing achievement for us,” said Terry. “It is the first time a few of the lads have won the Premier League here and we will enjoy this, no doubt about that.

“But we have still got a massive game next week. We could go down in the club’s history and that is important to all of us. We realize that and we are looking forward to it.”

Striker Didier Drogba, whose hat-trick against Wigan ensured he finished the season as the Premier League’s top scorer with 29 goals, was delighted with the team’s success and his own achievement.

“I’m proud because this has been three years chasing the title for three years and to win it in front of our fans is something special,” reflected the Ivory Coast striker, who scored three more league goals than Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney.
